Snow coming to Clark County on Wednesday

National Weather Service Portland office has a high confidence the Winter Weather Watch will bring snow to Clark County starting Wednesday afternoon as early as 2 p.m. In addition, very frigid temperatures in the teens will occur overnight Thursday through Sunday. The east wind may pick up on Thursday evening and stay through Friday evening.

Notice the forecast severity and timing are different based on your elevation above or below 500 feet:

  • For most of Clark County below 500 feet, the NWS says to expect 2-4” snow at the valley floor starting Wednesday afternoon as early as 2 p.m.
  • For the foothills and areas above 500 feet, expect snow starting Wednesday early before the morning commute affecting Yacolt, Amboy, Hockinson and surrounding areas. Expect 4-8” additional inches of snow Wednesday evening through Thursday.
