Derelict vessel in Columbia River leaking oil

The 431ft derelict vessel, Davy Crockett, has been leaking oil into the Columbia River near Camas. A recent test of the oil samples revealed small amounts of PCP. The U.S. Coast Guard, other federal, state, and local agencies are working to clean up the oil, secure the vessel, and thus neutralize the contamination.

Authorities advise not to consume freshwater shellfish from the lower Columbia River and to avoid contact with the oily sheen on the water.
