DAY 29: What Did We Forget?

The world of emergency preparedness contains a wealth of important information.  We knew, at the start of this one-month project, that we simply couldn't cover the full spectrum of emergency management.

You'll notice, however, that we covered the big messages of "Get a Kit," "Make a Plan" and "Be Informed" throughout the month of September.

DAY 29 ACTIVITY:  Today, however, we want you to tell us everything we missed.....and we mean EVERYTHING!

You will earn +1 for each task idea submitted, relating to emergency preparedness, that you can think of.  We will award up to +6 points total to each player for submitting up to six different ideas.

PROOF: Share your answers in one of the following ways:
  • Leave a comment with your answer in it on this blog post.
  • You can put your answer on the CRESA Facebook Fan Page or tag CRESA in a note, if you are recording your activities on your own page.
  • You can post the answers on Twitter (please include @CRESA or hashtag #30days30ways in your tweet
  • If you are uncomfortable sharing this information online, you may email your answer to: cheryl.bledsoe@clark.wa.gov
REMEMBER, you have until midnight TOMORROW night (9/30/10) to complete as many of these tasks as possible!

DAY 28 UPDATE:  We have received out-of-area contact calls and recorded points for Andy C, Tim B, Scott C, Angela O, Carolyn H and Northland Fox.  Please also know that we've received a number of  "hang-up" calls.  We will continue to update the Day 28 Blog and Facebook post (in the comments section) so that you can check-back and see if your out-of-area contact person has called in for you!  Remember, this a voicemail line only, so folks can call anytime!

The Forgotten:

1: Where is your nearest hospital?
2: Utilities and their shut off locations?
3: Are you afraid of the dark? (Light sources in an emergency)

Ok. That's all I can think of right now.

Medical Prescriptions, old pair of prescription glasses
Helping others in a disaster - Knowing your neighborhood (Map your Neighborhoor)
Rotating your food. How old is the food in your kit?
Fuel... Dad always taught me to keep a quarter tank in my car. It has helped a lot in the night during an activation.
Cash.... Something we shouldn't share online where it is, but do you have cash at home?
Drop, cover and hold... but what about the way out of your home, apt building or office? where is the meeting point?
Oh and for a bonus point.. Cheryl's Phone number! :)
