Day 11: Play Nicely With Others

Yesterday, we asked you to remember history.  Today, we're asking for you to engage in your communities.  During National Preparedness Month, many emergency management agencies are involved in sponsoring or hosting events which seek to train, educate or conversate with others.

This engagement is important as emergency managers often say "let's exchange business cards BEFORE the emergency and not DURING."

DAY 11 ACTIVITY:  We ask you to attend a preparedness event sometime this month in your community.  There are 4 points available for today which can be achieved in the following ways:
  • 2 points are available for attending a National Preparedness Event (For example, CRESA Open House would count today from 11a-2p!)
  • 2 points are available for completing the GeoCache event or completing the Thankful Coloring Page that will both be available at the CRESA Open House;
  • However if you are unable to attend the Open House, you can also provide a creative way to say thanks to a public safety agency for your 2 points.
PROOF:  Choose one of the following ways to record your answer:
  • Leave a comment with your answer in it on this blog post
  • Put your answer on the CRESA Facebook Fan Page or tag CRESA in a note, if you are recording your activities on your own page.
  • Provide the answer on Twitter (please include @CRESA or hashtag #30days30ways in your tweets)
  • If you are uncomfortable sharing this information online, you may email your answer to: cheryl.bledsoe@clark.wa.gov
For the #30Days30Ways rules, check out this blog post: http://cresa911.blogspot.com/2010/08/30-days-30-ways-preparedness-challenge.html

Answers may be submitted on all tasks anytime between now and midnight on 9/30/10.

Today I couldn't make it to the open house so instead I subscribed for emails to Cowlitz County blog (i live in cowlitz county) and posted a comment thanking them for all they do.
