Tribute to Honor Service & Sacrifice


A very special tribute is coming to the City of La Center this afternoon. 

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial will be at the Community Park at 1000 East 4th St in La Center, Washington, from August 4-8th.  It will be open around the clock and will have various event scheduled throughout the next 5 days. 

Here is the list of the scheduled events:

Wednesday, August 4
  • Free Hand Held flags available at participating La Center businesses, City Hall, Police Department after 8am to welcome the escort into town
  • 1:00-2:00p ~ Escort Staging at N/B I-5 Truck Scales
  • 2:15-2:30p ~ Arrival at City Park
  • Speakers- Grand Marshall /AVTT
  • Volunteer Meeting
  • Wall Set-up
Thursday, August 5
  • 8:00a ~ Posting of Colors
  • 1:00 ~ Gold Star Mothers Presentation of Wreaths
  • Dusk ~ Retire Colors
  • Dusk ~ Candlelight Vigil
