Fun Preparedness Campaigns

It's always fun to see different preparedness campaigns within the community.  While CRESA does not endorse the use of any particular products over another, we do feel that it is important to share broadly the preparedness messages of various campaigns.

Recently, we came across the "Simple and Surprising" campaign of the American Red Cross who partnered with Clorox bleach.

There are a couple of fun things with this campaign that our community should be aware of:

  • A fun "Adventures in Being Prepared" coloring book which available for download.  Every time this coloring book is downloaded between now and June 30th, Clorox will donate $1 to the American Red Cross (up to $10,000).  It's an easy and quick way for everyone to help the American Red Cross.
  • If you use Twitter and Tweet the hashtag #smpl&surprising, you will be entered for a chance to win a $500 gift card and get $500 donated in your name to your local American Red Cross chapter.
Finally, there is a good video on making a family evacuation plan that you can watch and encourage your family to do at home:

Enjoy this campaign and remember that if you do something simple every day to prepare yourself for emergencies, you will be much more resilient on the day when you encounter one.
