Stage 2 Burn Ban Lifted

From the SW Washington Clean Air Agency:

"Due to overnight winds and improving air quality, the Southwest Clean Air Agency (SWCAA) is removing the Stage 2 Burn Ban called for Clark County effective 10:00 AM on December 14, 2009. The long term weather forecast indicates conditions that will provide good ventilation in Southwest Washington.

We encourage the public to always utilize good combustion practices when using wood combustion devices. Outdoor burning is again allowed in areas where burning has not been permanently banned provided that you have a burn permit. Please check with SWCAA or your local Fire Department for allowed locations and fire danger conditions prior to burning.

We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to those who cooperated with this curtailment. SWCAA is sensitive to the hardship this Stage 2 Burn Ban may have placed on people in these times of increased economic burden. Thank you – we cannot do this without your help.
