Vancouver Police were
notified that Mr. Jenkins was located safe in Corvallis. No further details are
available at this time.
The Vancouver Police department would like to thank the media and members of
the public for putting out information related to this missing person and for
assistance in searching for him.
This information has been released from our partners at the Vancouver Police Department as of 8:00 a.m. on 12/4/13:
During late evening hours on 12-3-13, family members called 9-1-1 to
report John Jenkins as a missing person.
John was last seen at his residence on 12-3-13 at approximately 6:00 pm.
John
is a White male with salt / pepper hair, short haircut, short mustacche, and of
medium build. John's left leg is prosthetic from knee down, causing John to
walk with a limp. John has been diagnosed with a mental illness and is also
autistic. John's medical condition causes him to be gullible when in contact
with strangers.
John is currently wearing either a dark brown or a bright blue colored jacket,
dark blue jeans, and dark brown tennis shoes. John also wears suspenders and
may have unkempt appearance.
John likes to ride buses and hang out in public places, such as convenience
stores.
Vancouver Police Department's investigators are requesting public to
immediately call 9-1-1 if anyone fitting John's description is
spotted in the area.
The Vancouver Police are asking members of the public as they are waking up or arriving at work to check areas such as dumpsters, alley ways or out buildings and call 911 if Mr. Jenkins is located.
Vancouver Police are continuing their search this morning.There is no additional information at this time and Mr. Jenkins has not yet been located.
