Mark Your Calendars for "Clark Ready Expo" on September 7th

No one wants to think about disasters or having to call 9-1-1 to report an emergency, especially when they could hit close to home, right?

But getting a community to understand and ready itself for disasters or to dial 9-1-1 during emergencies is vital to ensuring that we are prepared and have the ability to get back on our feet quickly when true disaster strikes.

This year, the Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA) is getting ready for two very significant events in honor of National Preparedness Month and 9-1-1 Day:

The Clark Ready Expo is an annual event at CRESA in which we not only open our doors so people can
see 9-1-1 dispatchers “in action,” but we also bring together over 35 of our partner agencies who provide
specialized emergency response skills.

From bomb squads and tactical response vehicles to search and rescue animals and community volunteers, this event provides everyone with a bird’s eye view of public safety agencies and community organizations within Clark County.

In addition to K-9 dog demonstrations, participants will have the opportunity to learn hands only CPR in a
fast and fun manner. With face-painting, balloons, buttons and passports for kids, families will enjoy many hands-on types of activities and demonstrations. There will also be free hot dogs & pizza, while supplies last, for those who attend thanks to our generous sponsors.

Tours of the 9-1-1 Dispatch Center and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will provide the ability
to see how we directly respond to emergencies here in Clark County.

The Clark Ready Expo will occur on 13th Street between Franklin and Harney. People can park for free
nearby in the County Parking Garage which has an entrance off of Franklin, just south of Mill Plain.

This event is made possible through generous community sponsors like NW Natural Gas (who will also
be giving away over 100 emergency preparedness kits at this event), Twilight Pizza Bistro, Corwin
Beverages, Frito Lay, Costco, Walmart, Cash & Carry, and Air & Water Works.

We invite our entire and neighboring communities to be involved with CRESA in this fun event as we
celebrate our on-going mission to be “Always Here & Always Ready” for anything that comes our way.
