Heat Advisory Issued until 9p Sunday

This morning, the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for the Portland Metro Area region, including all of Clark County.  It’s effective from today (Saturday, 24JUL) until 9 PM tomorrow (Sunday, 25JUL).  Temperatures will climb well into the 90s with little overnight relief most urban and foothill night temperatures will remain in the 60s.

The elderly and those who do not have air conditioning or access to cool locations are vulnerable to effects from the heat.  Small children and animals should not be left confined in cars.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected.  The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
    ·         Drink plenty of fluids
    ·         Stay in an air-conditioned room
    ·         Stay out of the sun
    ·         Check up on relatives and neighbors
