Washington State Celebrates April as Disaster Preparedness Month

Will you be hiding under your desk on April 21st at 9:45 a.m.?  Many folks throughout our great state will be "hightailing" it under their desks to celebrate "Disaster Preparedness Month" in the State of Washington.  Governor Gregoire has signed the annual proclamation which declares April to be the month in which the statewide Earthquake Drill occurs. 

To prepare your workplace or business, take a look at this flyer which provides some helpful hints towards being ready for an earthquake. 

And, if you already think you're ready, take the plunge to see if you can answer "yes" to each of these checklist questions.

The ounce of prevention you take now to prepare for an earthquake could save your life!  Earthquakes can happen here in the Pacific Northwest, and, as our friends in Mexico learned just a few hours ago, your house can look like this in just a few minutes:
