You may hear or see some military helicopters near the Jantzen Beach area tonight (Wednesday). They are participating in military training exercises conducted by the Department of Defense which are routinely held in large cities across the country. The helicopters have received permission from the FAA for these flights.Local news outlets like KGW and KOIN have some video footage of what these drills looked like on Monday night.
Please do not call 9-1-1 to report seeing or hearing these helicopters. Here are some helpful reminders for when you should call 9-1-1.
