What is the one thing that always fails during any emergency response? If you guessed "communications," you would be right. After-Action Reports since the beginning of time nearly always cite the ability to seamlessly communicate as one of the significant challenges that all responders face. Whether it's breakdowns in face-to-face communication to the use of complicated technology, getting the message out in a clear and consise manner is always the hardest part of being effective.
And why should this blog be any different?
We have realized that the "subscription" feature is not working as well as we would like. While the blog messages appear here on the site, they are not being sent out in a timely manner. So, we ask for your patience while we sort out these technical difficulties. It does appear that the RSS feed continues to work effectively.
Fortunately, one of our emergency partners, the Oregon Trail Red Cross Chapter, has also launched a blog through Blogger which does not appear to be facing these similar challenges. We will be working to learn from their experiences on how best to improve this blog site.
We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Bledsoe
EM Manager
