April is a special month for 9-1-1 Dispatch and Emergency Management. April is both National 9-1-1 Education Month and Washington State Disaster Preparedness Month.
And, in the coming days, we will celebrate National Telecommunicator's Week by honoring our CRESA dispatchers with lunch provided by the Management Team and other activities sponsored by our local Guild.
National Volunteer Recognition Week will be celebrated through a great local event which will honor the many countywide emergency service volunteers that participate in our Amateur Radio, Search & Rescue, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), Volunteer Mobilization Center (VMC), Neighbors on Watch, and CRESA's Emergency Operations Center Volunteers.
To honor both 9-1-1 Education Month and Washington State Disaster Month, CRESA will be sharing fun and informative posts all month long and we hope that you will, in turn, take some time to talk with your loved ones about how to call 9-1-1 properly and how to become more personally prepared.
