Instincts take over without exercising or learning a new practice. If you’re outside, the instinct will be to run inside. The opposite is true if you are already inside. Experts have shown us that people in our country generally get hurt by falling objects, toppling bookcases, breaking windows, flying dishes, falling televisions, collapsing fireplaces, or shifting furniture - not collapsing structures.
Instead of running, do the following:
· Drop under something sturdy and taller than you are.
· Cover the back of your head and neck with one arm.
· Hold on in case the item you’re under moves.
